Proofreading
Proofreading is the most fundamental editorial service. During Proofreading, I will examine a final draft of your writing for spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, the use of correct punctuation, and consistent formatting. However, Proofreading does not include any revision of your writing for improved readability or clarity. For a service that will include these additional options, please see Copy Editing.
Copy Editing
Copy Editing includes all of the checks I perform during
Proofreading, but adds an additional element of composition to help the reader fully grasp your ideas and arguments. During Copy Editing, I will make suggestions to revise the text in order to bring greater clarity and elegance to your writing, with regular notations to explain my thinking and help you improve your work.
Illustration
Many documents benefit from well-designed illustrations or explanatory figures. By utilising a combination of my editorial and digital artwork experience, I can advise you on the construction, layout, and content of complex figures, including graphics, charts, or diagrams. More than this, I can draft high-quality illustrations to suit any number of documents, while ensuring that the format is suitable for use online or in print.
Typesetting
The final destination for many pieces of writing is publication. This involves the careful preparation of writing in order to ensure that a suitable design and layout is in place. My Typesetting service will use industry-standard software to transform your document into a file that conforms to widely accepted publishing conventions. This will produce a sleek and attractive design for your writing that is ready to publish online or in print.
